Welcome to the San Cristóbal Province
The San Cristóbal Province is located in the Southern Region of the Dominican Republic. It is located in the coastal lowlands close to the Caribbean Sea. It was founded by Spaniards in 1575, where gold was discovered. It was also the site of the signing of the Dominican Republic's first constitution. Currently, San Cristóbal is known for its prosperous commercial centre for its agriculture. It produces rice, sugarcane, coffee, fruit, potatoes and livestock.
This is Cuevas Del Promier. The San Cristóbal Province is known for this series of 55 caves. In these caves, archeologists found well preserved animal fossils from prehistoric times. Inside, you can also find around 6000 ancient drawings, carvings and pictographs of birds, reptiles and humans.
This is Playa Najayo beach. It is a very well known beach in San Cristóbal.
