The country's GDP is $207.082 billion, and GDP per capita is 18,600, the GDP growth rate is 12.27% in 2021. The GDP per capita in Haiti is $1,800. Comparing them to each other, the Dominican Republic has a much larger GDP per capita. The Dominican Republic is ranked number 66 out of all the countries. About three fifths of the Dominican Republic remains below the poverty line. Over the past few years, public debt has been decreasing but equal income and long term unemployment are lasting problems. The Dominican Republic has a mixed economic system which includes a variety of private freedoms and centralized economic planning and government regulation. The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic is a notable firm that is part of the banking industry. It manages the Santo Domingo Stock market and is a well developed banking system. The Dominican Republic has a diverse and growing economy.
